Counter Poster for a Coffee Shop

Counter Poster for a Coffee Shop

The brief

I designed a countertop promotional poster for a coffee shop offering 30% off sweet pastries with the purchase of a 300 ml coffee. The piece is intended for a portrait tabletop holder at the point of sale, so the message had to attract attention and be understood within seconds while a customer orders.

The approach

I created the complete key illustration specifically for this poster. The decorative lettering, luminous flourishes, dimensional ribbon, coffee cup, croissant, scattered beans, and atmospheric background were composed as one authored image rather than assembled from a ready-made advertising template.

The hierarchy is built around three elements: the coffee size, the discount, and the product category. The large 30% becomes the focal point, while the curve of the ribbon leads the eye toward the offer conditions. Cream-and-gold lettering against an almost black ground recalls warm café lighting and remains legible from a distance.

Details

Coffee and fresh pastry appear together in the lower section, making the offer understandable even before the copy is read. Steam, highlights, and coffee beans add warmth and freshness, while the small terms line completes the layout without competing with the main message.

The case first presents the poster in its real café-counter context, followed by the full-resolution original artwork.
